MEDIA RELEASE: Adelaide Holocaust Museum receives $2.5m to broaden its reach

AHMSEC has welcomed the announcement made by the Australian Government to contribute $2.5m to broaden the museum and education centre’s reach.

The Adelaide Holocaust Museum and Andrew Steiner Education Centre (AHMSEC) has welcomed the Australian Government’s contribution of $2.5m to continue developing the existing site, which will open to the public in November. Announcing the grant yesterday, Federal Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said it would “allow every South Australian child to learn about this tragic period in world history and to learn about the importance of tolerance and humanity”.

The Adelaide Holocaust Museum and Andrew Steiner Education Centre acknowledges and pays respect to the Traditional Custodians and Elders of this nation, past, present and future, and the continuation of cultural, spiritual, and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. AHMSEC stands on Kaurna land.
